The big family drama this summer

My brother’s wife was caught in bed with my nephew! OK, I should give some context. My nephew’s name is Liam and he’s a real ladies man, despite being only 14. Tall, handsome, fit, athletic, confident, experienced, he does very well with the girls. And I completely understand why, I know if I was a teen girl I'd be very taken with him! Even his female cousins all seem to have a crush on him, we could all see the way they were flirting with him over the holidays and we were laughing about it. He wasn’t really flirting back though, he was giving all his attention to his uncle’s wife. Technically his aunt, but his aunt by marriage, so they’re not blood related. Her name is Sarah and she’s in her early 30s, attractive but with quite loose morals if you know what I mean. She got married to my brother Mark just out of high school because she got pregnant, but their relationship has never been very good and I’ve heard rumors about her cheating on him. I don’t have any proof of this, but it seems very plausible to me.

So, every summer we have a big gathering that most of the extended family attends, this year it's happening in my house and for a couple of weeks it's filled up with people. As soon as Liam got here he set his sights on Sarah and she’s been more than responsive, she’s been flirting back with him all week. He has been sitting next to her at every meal and whenever we’re chilling in the living room, laughing at his jokes, letting him show off his muscles to her and eagerly feeling his biceps and abs, and getting inappropriately touchy. They’ve been very brazen about it too, doing it in full view of everyone, including her husband and their son. Oh yeah, they have a son named Noah who’s the same age as Liam, and he was obviously not happy seeing his mom getting chatted up every day by his cousin. I could see him watching them with his fists clenched tight and his teeth gritted, as his father sat next to him with a similar look on his face. Well, yesterday after dinner the two of them were back at it, and being even more obvious than usual. Liam got Sarah to sit on his lap on the sofa and he had an arm around her midriff as he whispered in her ear and she giggled. She had a few glasses of wine over the night, she didn’t get extremely drunk or anything but it did seem to loosen her up. They continued like that all through the evening as one by one the rest of us got tired and went to bed, I was one of the last to go and the two of them were still flirting in the living room when I hit the sack.

This morning I was woken up by angry shouting, and when I went down the hall to see what was going on I saw Mark standing outside the bedroom that Liam was using, yelling at whoever was inside. I went over to get a better look and there was Sarah, naked and trying to cover herself with the duvet, next to a similarly naked Liam. He didn’t seem bothered by the situation at all, he had this smug smirk on his face as his uncle yelled at him and the rest of his extended family stared. It couldn’t have been more obvious what had happened. Sarah’s son Noah was one of the last to arrive at the scene and he was even angrier than his father, it took him a few seconds to realize what he was looking at but when it clicked he ran into the room and actually tried to attack Liam! Liam had just got out of bed, and unlike Sarah he didn’t try to cover his nakedness at all,. When Noah threw his punch Liam dodged it and then grabbed Noah’s arm, twisting it behind his back and pinning him to the ground instantly. It was a very short "fight", Noah was completely incapacitated within about two seconds, by the cousin who had obviously just had sex with his mom! Talk about humiliating! At that point some other family members and I intervened and broke it up, we got Liam to let Noah go and pulled him away before he could attack him again. There was more shouting from Mark, I couldn’t even make out what he was saying most of the time but it included a lot of words like “slut” and "whore". Mark and Noah were out of the house within an hour, once they’d calmed down they packed their stuff and drove out in their car. Sarah is still here and I don’t know how she’s planning on getting home, or even if she’s planning on going home at all. I can’t imagine she’d exactly be welcomed back by her husband after what just happened! Amazingly she’s still hanging out with Liam, they’re out in the yard together right now.
