It was late and time to tidy up and go to bed before mom came home. Ellie got upset and I got a girlfriend.

After having a cold drink, don’t worry it was only juice, not alcohol, and a little snack, we realized it was now nearly 4:30 in the morning and mom would be home in about 3 hours, and we were all pretty exhausted, so we all got dressed in our pajamas and starting tidying things up, Ellie put all our dirty and soaking wet clothes in the washing basket, putting Peter and Mia’s on the heaters to dry off, Peter mopped the bathroom and landing floors because they were covered in water, and Mia and I cleaned up the cups and plates in the kitchen downstairs.

She seemed to calm down a little after that and she wasn’t crying as much, “Do you love Mia?” she asked, “I’m not a baby and I’m not stupid, please just answer me.” She added.

I didn’t know how to respond to that question, I definitely felt something for Mia, something strong, I wasn’t sure if it was love or what, how could I love someone I’d just met only a few hours ago, “I don’t know. I do like her though.” I replied.

Ellie took a deep breath in, “I knew it.” She said, as she breathed out, then she wiped her eyes and face, looked at me and smiled a little, “Are you going to ask her out?” she asked.

“I don’t know. Maybe.” I replied, “Would you be okay if I did?” I asked.

She hesitated and then nodded, “Yeah. She is nice. I’m just being silly. If you want to be with her I won’t be upset.“ She said.

“Peter. Come here.” Shouted Ellie, “Would you mind if I just lay with him for a while?” she asked Mia.
“No. That’s okay.” Replied Mia, getting up off the floor.

As Peter joined Ellie on the floor, they got comfy under the blanket and Mia sat on the bed beside me, we were meant to be getting some sleep so I didn’t know why Ellie wanted Peter to join her, I looked at her for answers and she looked back me and smiled, then she mouthed the words, “Ask her out.” discretely, unbelievable, she was actually trying to set us up.

“Come on. I’ll make you breakfast.” She said.

We all reluctantly went downstairs and had breakfast, we were completely shattered, when mom went to bed about an hour later we all went in to the front room, shut the curtains and fell asleep on the sofa.
